The second painting inspired by Arnada Park. The early morning fog shrouds nature with a surreal light. The quiet times also offer stark contrast to the reality that some are without a home. The tent ensconced in the play structure serves as a metaphor for the challenges of daily living.

I was inspired to create a tableau via reference photos that I had taken while out on early morning walks with my dogs. The paintings were created with artistic license to convey an alternate perspective of settings in our everyday lives.

I did not work from photos taken of the houseless, as I have no interest exploiting another person’s living situation.
